Jose Monsivais, MD

Dr. Jose J. Monsivais provides comprehensive surgical and non-surgical management for a wide variety of disorders. These include brachial plexus injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, complex pain syndromes, congenital hand abnormalities, Dupuytren’s contracture, hand fractures, hand contractures, microsurgical reconstruction, nerve injuries and peripheral nerve pain, replantation surgery, syndactyly, trigger fingers, and wrist pain and injuries. For all conditions, the goal is to restore function and improve quality of life.

Dr. Monsivais has been practicing in El Paso since 1983. He completed a fellowship in Hand/Reconstructive Microsurgery from Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina and Hand Surgery from Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.. Dr. Monsivais served on active duty in the U.S. Army Medical Corps and was formerly affiliated with the Plastic Surgery program at William Beaumont Army Medical Center. Currently, he holds a Clinical Professor position with Texas Tech University School of Medicine in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation.
